AI flashcard and quiz generator

Paste your notes or a passage from a textbook, and AI turns them into flashcards and a short quiz. Every answer comes with a quote from your text. Free, with an account.

We don’t store your text on our servers - it stays only in this browser. We keep the finished flashcards and questions; an AI model on Cloudflare processes the text. Privacy policy

How it works

  1. You paste the text you want to learn from: your notes, a passage from a textbook or an article, between 300 and 12,000 characters. You can also load a PDF and pick the pages - we read it in your browser.
  2. A language model (AI) writes up to 10 flashcards and up to 5 multiple-choice questions with four options each. For every card and question, it quotes the part of your text that it is based on.
  3. We check that this quote really is in your text, word for word. If it isn’t, the card or question is removed.
  4. The AI then answers every quiz question a second time, without the answer key and using only your text. Only the questions where both answers match are kept.

A set usually takes less than a minute. All the AI tools share one daily limit on AI generations - you can see how many you have left under the text box.

Check the set before you study

Language models make mistakes and can state something false with complete confidence - these are called hallucinations. Our two checks catch some of these errors, but not all of them: a quote can be genuine while the answer on the card still gets it wrong. The AI also works only from your text, so if your notes contain a mistake, it will end up on the cards too. That’s why it’s worth going through the set with your text at hand - the quote next to each answer makes this quick.

Why flashcards and a quiz?

When you recall an answer - on a flashcard or in a quiz - you remember it better than when you read the same text again. This is called the testing effect, and studying this way is called retrieval practice. Rereading, on the other hand, can make you feel you know the material simply because the text looks familiar.

Cards you mark “Not yet” go to the back of the deck and keep coming back until you know them all. You’ll get the most out of a set, though, by reviewing it over several days rather than in one sitting, with gaps you can gradually lengthen. Our guide to spaced repetition shows how to plan this.

Your data

  • You need an account to create sets. You sign in with Google or with a code sent to your email - no password needed.
  • We don’t store the text you paste on our servers - it stays only in your browser, so a set can be made again. Your account keeps the finished set: the title, the flashcards and the questions, with short quotes from your text.
  • The text is processed by an AI model on Cloudflare’s servers (Workers AI). Cloudflare states that it doesn’t use this content to train AI models and doesn’t retain prompts or responses once they are no longer needed to handle the request.
  • Don’t paste personal data or confidential information.
  • You can delete any set, or your whole account along with all its sets, at any time. The GDPR also gives you the right to have your data erased (Article 17). You’ll find more in our privacy policy.
