AI summary generator

Paste your notes or an article, or load a PDF, and AI sums it up - the main idea and the key points, each with a quote from your text. Free, with an account.

We don’t store your text on our servers - it stays only in this browser tab. We save the finished summary to your account; an AI model on Cloudflare processes the text. Privacy policy

How it works

  1. You paste a text: your notes, a textbook chapter or an article, between 300 and 12,000 characters. You can also load a PDF and pick the pages - we read it in your browser.
  2. A language model (AI) writes a title, the main idea of the text in a sentence or two, and up to 8 key points in the order they come in the text. For every point, it quotes the part of your text that it is based on.
  3. We check that this quote really is in your text, word for word. If it isn’t, the point is removed.
  4. The AI then reads every sentence of the summary again, this time without the quotes, and compares it with your text. A sentence that says more than the text, leaves out an important condition or contradicts the text is removed.

A summary usually takes less than half a minute. All the AI tools share one daily limit on AI generations - you can see how many you have left under the text box. The finished summary is saved to your account - you will find them all on the “Your summaries” page in the “Account” menu. You can also copy it, or turn the same text into flashcards and a quiz with one button.

Check the summary before you study from it

Language models make mistakes and can state something false with complete confidence - these are called hallucinations. Our two checks catch some of these errors, but not all of them. The AI also works only from your text, so if your notes contain a mistake, it will end up in the summary too. And every summary leaves something out by its nature: examples, details, exceptions. That’s why it’s worth checking anything important against your text - “Show quotes from the text” reveals the passage behind each point.

Summaries and studying

A summary helps you see quickly what a text is about and what matters most in it - for example before you tackle a long chapter, or when you go back to old notes. Rereading, a summary included, makes things stick less well than recalling them, though: the text looks familiar, so it’s easy to believe you already know it. You remember more when you answer questions from memory - on flashcards or in a quiz. That’s why there is a “Make flashcards from this text” button under the summary. It takes your text to the AI flashcard and quiz generator. Flashcards work best when you review them over several days rather than all in one sitting.

Your data

  • You need an account to make summaries - the same one as for the flashcard generator. You sign in with Google or with a code sent to your email - no password needed.
  • We don’t store the text you paste on our servers - it stays only in this browser tab and disappears when you close it. Your account keeps the finished summary: the title, the main idea and the key points, with short quotes from your text.
  • You can delete any summary, or your whole account along with all its summaries, at any time. The GDPR also gives you the right to have your data erased (Article 17).
  • The text is processed by an AI model on Cloudflare’s servers (Workers AI). Cloudflare states that it doesn’t use this content to train AI models and doesn’t retain prompts or responses once they are no longer needed to handle the request.
  • Don’t paste personal data or confidential information.
  • You’ll find more in our privacy policy.
